Data Not Collected

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 28, 2026

The short version. Sift runs entirely on your iPhone. It has no internet permission at all — no accounts, no servers, no ads, no analytics, no tracking SDKs. Your photos, contacts, and every decision you make stay on your device. Apple's App Privacy label for Sift reads "Data Not Collected" — because none is.

1. Who we are

Sift ("the app", "we") is an iOS application developed by Hacı Ahmet Gezgin ("the developer", "I"). This policy explains how Sift handles your information. Because Sift is fully on-device, there is very little to explain — and that is by design.

2. What Sift accesses on your device

To do its job — sorting your camera roll and contacts — Sift requests access to the following, all processed locally and never transmitted anywhere:

Photos

Contacts

3. What we collect

Nothing. Sift has no network entitlement. It cannot — and does not — send your photos, contacts, decisions, usage, identifiers, or any other data off your device. There are no accounts to create and no servers to sync to.

4. What we store (and where)

Everything Sift remembers lives in a local database on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData:

This data is included in your encrypted device backup (iCloud or local) only if you back up your phone — that is Apple's backup, governed by your iCloud settings, not a Sift server.

5. Third parties & tracking

There are none. Sift contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking SDKs. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), we do not fingerprint your device, and there is nothing to opt out of because nothing is collected.

Sift is not an antivirus, a "speed booster," or a cloud service. It will never show fake risk alerts or fabricated urgency to pressure a purchase. If a feature isn't on your device, Sift simply doesn't do it.

6. Optional cloud escalation (not enabled by default)

Apple's Private Cloud Compute may, in a future version, be offered as an explicit, user-initiated, clearly disclosed option for select reasoning tasks. If it is ever added, it will be off by default, you will be asked each time, and your raw photos will not be sent. As shipped today, Sift does not use it.

7. Children's privacy

Sift does not target children and collects no personal data from anyone, including children under 13.

8. Your rights

Because your data never leaves your device, you remain in full control at all times:

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes that affect how the app behaves will also be surfaced in the app.
