What is empty?

empty is a meditative experience app. Frosted glass items fall from a cosmic sky. Tap one to reveal a hidden philosophical message inside. Each day you get one free opening — after that, you can purchase additional openings.
How does the daily free opening work?

You get 3 free message openings every day. The counter resets automatically at local midnight. When you've used your free openings you can either wait for the reset or unlock empty Pro (one-time, lifetime) to remove the daily limit. The library, journal, breathing, streak/calendar, themes, sharing and daily reminder are free regardless.
What are the different themes?

empty features 6 unique visual themes, each with its own Metal shader sky, color palette, falling symbols, and curated messages: Cosmos (cyan/deep space), Aurora (mint/nature), Ember (orange/fire), Ocean (blue/depth), Void (monochrome/minimal), and Sakura (pink/blossom). Swipe left or right to switch between them.
How do I switch themes?

Simply swipe left or right anywhere on the screen. The background sky, colors, and falling items will smoothly transition to the next theme. The dots at the top show which theme you're viewing.
Can I share the messages I receive?

Yes! After revealing a message, tap the Share button. empty generates a beautiful card image with your message and theme colors that you can share to Instagram, Messages, WhatsApp, or save to your camera roll.
Where is my data stored?

All data is stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to external servers. Your data is protected by iOS encryption and sandboxing. Deleting the app removes all local data.
How much does it cost?

empty is free to download. You get 3 free message openings every day, full access to all six themes, the saved-message library, journaling, breathing sessions, streak tracking, sharing, and the optional daily reminder. If you'd like to remove the daily limit on openings, you can unlock empty Pro as a one-time, non-consumable purchase — a lifetime unlock with no subscriptions or recurring charges.
What does empty Pro include?

empty Pro is a one-time lifetime unlock. Its sole benefit is unlimited message openings — no daily limit. All other features (six themes, library, journal, breathing, streak/calendar, sharing, daily reminder) are free for everyone. Any future content added to empty Pro is included at no extra cost.
I upgraded to Pro on another device. How do I restore it?

Open the app, tap the settings gear (top right), then tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID you originally purchased with. Your Pro unlock will be restored at no additional charge.
I purchased Pro but it didn't unlock. What should I do?

First, try Restore Purchase from the in-app Settings. If that doesn't work, force-close and reopen the app. If the issue persists, contact us at h.ahmetgezgin@gmail.com with your approximate purchase time and Apple ID region, and we'll help resolve it. Refund requests can also be submitted via Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I add the widget?

Long-press your Home Screen → tap Edit / + → search for empty → add the Message widget in small, medium, or large. On the Lock Screen, long-press → Customize → add empty to the widget area. The widget shows the day's message in your selected universe's colors, and the small refresh glyph draws a fresh message without opening the app. It also appears in StandBy while your iPhone charges. The widget follows whichever universe you last selected in the app.
Can I use empty with Siri, Shortcuts, or the Action Button?

Yes. Say "Reveal a message in empty" to Siri, run it from Spotlight or the Shortcuts app, or assign it to the Action Button. On iOS 18+ you can also add the Reveal a Message control to Control Center or your Lock Screen. "Start breathing in empty" jumps straight into a guided breathing session.
What are deep messages and how do I unlock them?

Instead of tapping a falling glyph, press and hold it. A ring fills as the glyph charges — release at full charge and you'll reveal a deep message: a rarer, longer reflection curated for that universe. A quick tap still gives you an everyday message.
What shows on my Lock Screen during breathing?

Starting a breathing session begins a Live Activity: the pacing orb, the current phase (inhale / hold / exhale / rest), your cycle count, and remaining time appear on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island, and in StandBy — so you can follow the pace with your phone locked or charging. It ends automatically with your session.
💡 Tips
- Items disappear? They fall continuously — new ones appear every few seconds. Be patient and tap when one catches your eye.
- Swipe not working? Make sure you're swiping horizontally (left or right), not vertically.
- Purchase issue? Check your App Store payment method and internet connection. Try restarting the app.
- Want a specific theme? Swipe through all 6 themes. The dot indicators at the top show your current position.
