How do I create a barcode?

Open the Create tab, select a barcode format (e.g., EAN-13), type your value, and the barcode generates instantly. Then pick a style, color, and orientation to customize it.
What barcode formats are supported?

BarkodX supports 13 formats: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Code 11, ITF, Codabar, MSI Plessey, Pharmacode, and Telepen. Each format has specific input validation and check digit calculation.
What are the artistic styles?

There are 14 unique styles in two categories. Geometric (8): Standard, Wave, Cityscape, Mountain, Palm, Zigzag, Dome, Random. Silhouette (6): Horse, Cat, Human, Car, Cocktail, Poop. Silhouette styles mask the barcode into recognizable shapes.
Can I scan existing barcodes?

Yes! Use the Scan tab to scan barcodes with your camera. BarkodX auto-detects the format and lets you tap "Recreate with Style" to transform it into an artistic barcode. 7 scannable formats are supported.
How do I export my barcode?

Three options: Share PNG exports a high-resolution image (1x, 2x, or 3x scale). Copy SVG copies a scalable vector to your clipboard. Save to Gallery stores the barcode in your in-app gallery for later access.
Are the artistic barcodes still scannable?

Artistic styles modify the top portion of the barcode for visual effect. The scan zone at the bottom remains intact and scannable. You can adjust the scan zone ratio (15%–50%) in Settings.
Where is my data stored?

All data is stored locally on your device. Saved barcodes are kept as JSON files with optional PNG thumbnails in the app's Documents directory. Nothing is sent to external servers.
What colors are available?

BarkodX offers 10 color presets that can be applied to any barcode style. Colors are rendered in both the live preview and exported files. You can set a default color in Settings.
Can I use landscape and portrait orientations?

Yes! Toggle between Landscape (2.5:1 aspect ratio) and Portrait (0.55:1 aspect ratio) modes. The barcode rendering adapts seamlessly to both orientations.
Does BarkodX require an internet connection?

No. BarkodX works completely offline. All barcode encoding, rendering, and storage happens on your device. Zero external dependencies, zero network requests.
💡 Tips & Tricks
- Camera not working? Go to iOS Settings → BarkodX → Camera and ensure permission is granted.
- Barcode not generating? Check that your input matches the selected format's requirements. EAN-13 needs 12 digits, UPC-A needs 11 digits, etc.
- SVG not pasting correctly? SVG is copied as text. Paste into a text editor or design tool that supports SVG markup.
- Want higher resolution? Go to Settings and increase the PNG export scale to 3x for maximum quality.
- Scan zone too small? Increase the scan zone ratio in Settings (up to 50%) for better scannability with artistic styles.
